AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine replaced again

We reported earlier that major news outlets were associating concerns about apparently safe coronavirus vaccines with conspiratorial thinking, even as the use of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was limited by many countries, and that the vaccine was not to be used by Australians under the age of 50, seemingly due to the risk of death.

Today, Nine News (Australia) reports that the “government has continued to emphasise the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine for recommended recipients”, while it also “has accepted advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisations (ATAGI) that the AstraZeneca vaccine only be administered to people aged 60 and above”. This “new advice follows the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s report of 12 new blood clot cases linked to the vaccine, with seven of those in people aged 50-59”. Source.
